Create & Solve a Puzzle

For this project you will need:
  • large piece of cardboard
  • paint (preferably washable)
  • paint brushes
  • newspaper
  • paper plate
  • 'junk' cup or jar with water
  • scissors (parental supervision is advised)

Steps:
 
1. Have an adult or supervisor cut a large peice of carboard from cardboard box.
2. Lay out newspaper for mess.
3. Squirt Paint onto paper plate.
4. Begin painting picture or design onto cardboard.
5. Allow time to dry. (Have child help clean up and prepare for the next step)
6. (when dry) Cut painted cardboard into "puzzle shape pieces".
7. Have child put together their masterpiece!

For a 'fancier' puzzle, glue streamers or magazine cutouts while painting your masterpiece!
